Camping by the Sea!

The Sea Turtles had a fantastic week of exploring oceanography and camping! We went "fishing," told stories by the camp fire, and engaged in fun activities all about the ocean. The kids loved the sink/float experiment we conducted where they each picked an item from the classroom to test out their hypothesis. Each child also made beautiful sand art, ocean collages and jellyfish! A big thank you to Sara, Heath's mom, who came in and talked to the kids about oceanography! She brought in lots of items to pass around so the kids could put visuals to the things they were hearing about.

We have been really enjoying our last couple weeks together and talking about what end of the school year means!

We have four more days left of school to focus on each other and top secret Father's Day gifts!

Space Explorations!

The Sea Turtles had a great week finishing off their space unit and have had the best time exploring the universe! We made moonscapes, water colored planets, learned how to draw a star and visited Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn!

Saturday night was our school fundraiser and it was spectacular! Great turn out for a wonderful cause, thank you for your continued support and generosity!

This next week we will be beginning our ocean unit full of sea creatures, science experiments and sand art!

Blast Off!

The Sea Turtles had an exciting week! We kicked off the festivities by exploring our space theme with adventures to the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars! The kids have loved going into our "spaceship" and blasting off! Next week we will be traveling to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Jupiter which the kids now know is a "dwarf planet."

The all school field trip to Casa Dorinda was a big success. The guests thoroughly enjoyed our concert and the kids did a beautiful job of singing and mingling afterwards!

Next week we will continue our space theme with moonscapes, day vs night, star drawing and water color planets!

Happy Mother's Day!

The Sea Turtles had a festive week celebrating both Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day. Our days were filled with taco art, cascarones, pepper sequencing and finishing crafts for our moms! The Mother's Day Picnic was so much fun and it was so nice to see so many moms there! The kids were so excited to give their presents! Thank you for making it such a big success :).

This next week will be all about space! Making moon sand and learning about constellations are just the beginning!
