Be Merry

The Sea Turtles had a festive and busy week working on Christmas gifts and playing zoo phonics bingo! The boys are really enjoying playing bingo and it is such a great way to reinforce letter sounds and letter awareness. We have one more week before Christmas break and we are going to enjoy each other's company and be busy little elves working on our Christmas stories. Our classroom was full of visitors this week! Thank you to Sherri Ball and her dad for coming in to help celebrate Mason's 5th birthday. Thank you to Jen and Allan for coming in to read stories!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
See you Monday!

Tis' the Season

The Sea Turtles got a head start on the Advent/Christmas season with some festive crafts and hard work on their top secret gifts. It is so neat to see them work on their gifts as they truly make it their own. The boys were also busy practicing for the play, "Tip Toe to Bethlehem," which was just darling and a lot of fun! Thank you so much for coming to support this great event. Weren't the boys just precious?? I am always so proud of them! My little wise men :). Hope you all enjoyed it!
See you Monday!

Grateful

The Sea Turtles has an amazing week full of fun activities. Throughout the month of November, everyday at circle time, we always say things we are grateful for. It is so endearing to hear the boys talk about family members (past and present), friends, their homes, food, and even their teacher :). Our thankful class book is just darling as the boys illustrated and wrote their own pages!
Friday was our annual Thanksgiving luncheon, thank you all so much for your generous contributions!! The event was so successful and sweet. The boys were just adorable!
This next week will be especially short as we will only meet Monday before breaking for Thanksgiving.
See you Monday!

Lots of LOVE

The Sea Turtles had a wonderful week engaging in counting games and lots of art projects! They loved the native snake stick counting game which we played during circle time again and again :). We made colorful creations out of blueberries and raspberries. On Friday we made Zuni rain birds and the boys definitely thought it rained because of them!
Thank you the moms who we were able to come in and help with the art canvases. I truly appreciate the help! Thank you also to Matt's sister, Monica and Connor's brother, Alex, who came into read to the Sea Turtles!
This next week we will be creating a class book of what we are thankful for and look forward to our annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Friday!
See you Monday!

Fall Festival

The Sea Turtles had an amazing month of October! Fall Festival was an absolute blast, thank you for all of the parents who came to help and support this event. It is one of my favorites! The boys had such a great day filled with the parade, games, family, prizes, lunch, cupcakes, and fun! The boys were so well behaved walking all over staying in line and most importantly, staying safe! I constantly received compliments from parents who always say how well behaved the Sea Turtles are! Some even come down to our class just to watch! Imagine that! I love every second with them. I am the most fortunate teacher to have a class full of so much life and love!
November will be another wonderful month, focusing on giving thanks and gratitude along with classic Thanksgiving related themes, but we sure have a lot to be thankful for!
See you Monday!

Measuring, Counting, and Writing!

The Sea Turtles had a great week and are anxiously awaiting Monday for our annual Fall Festival! Throughout the week we engaged in skeleton q-tip art, paper bag pumpkins, measured and weighed our pumpkins, and ended with our class book, What Will You Be? The boys did such a great job with their writing and working on letter formation as they each hand wrote what costume they will be wearing to school on Monday! Thank you to Jen, Susan, and Christina for coming in this week to help in the classroom and read at circle time!
While October is winding down, November is right around the corner where we will be first concentrating on leaves and nature.
See you Monday for Fall Festival!
