Grateful

As the school year is wrapping up, the Sea Turtles have been taking full advantage of each day together and that includes the parents as well! The parents, and I mean, ALL of the parents, including myself and my husband, all gathered for an end of the year adult party at Piatti on Wednesday night. As goes with Sea Turtle tradition, the men sat with the men and the women with the women! We had an amazing time and I was overwhelmed with the generosity and love the parents have shown me. The boys have continued to enjoy our space themed lessons and our top secret Father's Day gifts are almost complete!
It is hard to believe there are only two days left of the school year but what a remarkable year it has been!
See you Wednesday!

Singing in the Sun

As we continued our space explorations, the Sea Turtles worked on their number awareness by putting space blocks in numerical order. They loved this activity as they were able to count both forward and backward! On Friday we had our annual spring sing at Casa Dorinda. After both concerts, the boys introduced themselves to the residents and asked questions. The residents truly enjoyed the interaction as told by the smiles on their faces. Upon returning to school the boys engaged in a game of hide and seek on the lower playground which they could not get enough of.
This next week we will finish up our space explorations and move into airplanes!
See you Monday!

Blast Off!

The Sea Turtles had an out of this world week beginning their studies on space! They first had to assemble their own rockets using different shapes, create name rockets with the letters of their name, and also make water color planets using droppers. We visited the first planet closest to the sun, Mercury, traveling on our very own class rocket, aka, the Church elevator :). Ask your child what Mercury is like during the day and what it is like at night! We have also been engaging in activities related to less and more and have been exploring letter sounds.
Next week we will continue our studies on space and perform for the elderly at Casa Dorinda on Friday!
See you Monday!

Happy Mother's Day!

The Sea Turtles had an exciting week full of festivities! First, we celebrated Connor's 4th birthday on Wednesday. His big brother Alex came to read and we had lots of fun eating cupcakes and swinging at the pinata! Thank you to the House family for making it such a memorable day! Teacher appreciation day was also Wednesday and boy was I surprised to receive such stunning flowers and thoughtful card! I feel very special and it is a privilege to be your children's teacher! On Friday was our annual Mother's Day Tea which was absolutely exceptional! The boys were so excited to finally give the gifts they had been working so diligently on! I am so pleased all of the Sea Turtle moms and a few grandmas were in attendance! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
Next week we will begin our space unit!
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
