The Boys Are Back In Town!

As you can see from these pictures, our class loves engaging in various activities. It's hard to believe the things we accomplish in only 3 days! The boys have really taken their snack days seriously as it involves being the line leader and overall class helper. You can see a true sense of pride as each one of them passes out snack and leads our class through the hallways and school. This week we focused on colors and name writing. It was great to see each child try their best when writing their names, a difficult feat! We will continue working on this and begin exploring uppercase and lowercase letters in the upcoming weeks. The kids also really loved the color identification fishing game!

This upcoming week we will focus on apples and activities will be surrounded by patterning and cooking!

Let the Good Times Roll!

The Sea Turtles had another great week at school! We finished our painting and tissue paper sea turtle art project and they all turned out great! The kids love looking for theirs on the bulletin board! The kids also drew self-portraits and they did a magnificent job. Each child spent time looking in the mirror and talking about the different shapes and colors of their faces. The end result was amazing as all of their self portraits are detailed and beautiful. Our class had our first share day and it went very well. The children were respectful of each other and loved sharing their item brought from home. School is a fun and exciting place, the Sea Turtles love engaging in learning activities inside and outside the classroom. Painting, bowling, and exploring with shaving cream in the courtyard were highlights. We also celebrated Cash's 4th birthday on Friday! The kids loved making crowns in honor of Cash and eating delicious cupcakes (thanks Susan)!

Next week we will be practicing name writing, color identification and letters in our names!

First Week of School!

The Sea Turtles had an amazing first week of school! We spent our days making handprints, getting to know each other, our classroom and school environment. We had a beautiful time during our first chapel on Wednesday , they especially enjoyed singing "This Little Light of Mine," holding up their pretend candles. The children also began making their very own sea turtles with green paint and tissue paper! They will be up in the classroom by Wednesday so be sure to check them out! We are having a wonderful time together and I am looking forward to next week where we will fill our days with self portraits and a secret postcard activity :).
