Storyteller Project and Visit

The Sea Turtles had a great week including the culmination of our month long service learning project benefiting Storyteller Children's Center. The boys had been anxiously awaiting our trip over there! They packed up bags full of the amazing donations brought in by all of the families and then it was off. The children were able to meet some of the children from Storyteller as well as play in the school itself. Once back in the classroom the boys had lots of comments about the trip including one in particular, "The school is different from ours, but they need the same things as us." Thank you all for your amazing support, generous donations, and time in making this project so successful!
Happy Spring Break!!!

St. Patty's Day Fun!

"Best friends are like four leaf clovers, hard to find, but lucky to have."

The Sea Turtles had a great week celebrating all things green in honor of St. Patrick's Day! From clover patterning to leprechaun traps to painting rainbow rocks and planting in our new garden, the boys were busy having a blast together. We had a wonderful class party on Friday, thank you to the moms who were able to make it and contribute to making it so festive!
Next week will be all about our trip over to Storyteller Children's Center for the drop-off of the donations we have collected for them. Thank you for your generous giving and support!
See you Monday!

Rocking Out!

The highlight of the Sea Turtles' week was the arrival of the newest addition to our class, Connor! He spent his first day with us on Friday and it went swimmingly! The boys welcomed him warmly and incorporated him right away into group play and interaction. I am so pleased and happy to have him and his family join our wonderful class!
Wednesday was also a special day as Crane Country Day School's Vibes musical group came to play for our school! The boys enjoyed the live concert and some were even invited on stage!
Our service learning project benefiting Storyteller Children's Center is going very smoothly - thank you to those who have so generously contributed!!!
This next week will be all about St. Patrick's Day including painting rainbow rocks, clover patterning, and much more!
See you Monday!

"Oh The Places You'll Go!"

The Sea Turtles had a exciting week celebrating all things Dr. Seuss. On Monday, the boys demonstrated their cutting skills by creating The Cat in the Hat hats. Wednesday was Green Eggs and Ham, where each child helped make green eggs and we put a Wacky Wednesday twist on it by making pancakes with them! Each boy then had to fill out a yes or no to the posed question, "Do you like green eggs and ham?" The results were spilt evenly! On Friday we conducted a science experiment mixing water and corn starch creating a substance called "Oobleck" from Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Needless to say, they had a great time!
We have started our service learning project benefiting Storyteller Children's Center. The curriculum is based on having the children be involved as much as possible so they can further deepen empathy and caring for others. Thank you for your support in this project!
This upcoming school week will be an exciting one as Connor will spend his first day with us on Friday! Yipee! Otherwise the children will be focusing on upper and lower case letters as well as name writing!
See you Monday!
Love,
Miss Meika
