Ready For Anything

The Sea Turtles had yet another great week. Hard to believe this was only the 3rd week of school! We have been taking full advantage of our time and finding that we often need more of it! The boys have been especially interested in our new school library, often wanting to forgo some of our outside time for more time in the library to look at books! This past week the boys enjoyed our new activity "fix a name" (ask them about it) and math graphs, where we graphed and counted what color eyes we all have. Blue had the most in case you were wondering. We also celebrated Cash's 5th birthday! Yay! Very exciting. Thank you to Susan who brought in cookies to help celebrate! And thank you also to Christina who came into read on Friday!
This next week will be all about friendship and what that means. I have a feeling the boys will know a bit about this!
See you Monday!

Falling Into Place

The Sea Turtles are sure getting the hang of things quickly! With quite a few adjustments this year, the boys have done an excellent job transitioning into them. We now have two "have-to's" in the morning, zoo phonics folders, show and tell, new line system, new manipulatives, and a new schedule! They are welcoming all of these new changes with open arms! Phew!
This past week the Sea Turtles created their own story about a sea turtle they cut and painted in class. Look out for our first class book coming soon: Sea Turtle Tales. We will continue class books throughout the year as they are a favorite among the children (and parents) alike! It is such a great way to help promote storytelling and a love for writing and reading!
This next week we will be engaging in some great new activities like personal all about me booklets, fix a name, and math graphs! Thank you to Jen (Declan's mom) for coming in on Friday to help out in the classroom!
See you Monday!

Sea Turtles 2.0

The Sea Turtles are back in action and better than ever! At first I was surprised how well the boys transitioned back into class, and later I thought, it probably would have been odd if they hadn't! A brand new year with a brand new classroom and brand new expectations. We started the first week off with getting reacquainted, exploring our new room, and creating new class expectations: together. We have one brand new sea turtle, Dylan, and he is a wonderful addition! Welcome to the Comis family! I believe Matt summed up the week when he came jumping over to me repeating: "I'm soooo happy! I'm soooo happy!" The love and camaraderie between the boys is just amazing.
This next week will be all about introducing our phonics program, Zoo Phonics, and beginning show and tell!
See you Monday!
Love,
Miss Meika
